Old Earth Books Brings the Thunder!
So you may or may not know about Old Earth Books. They are an indy publisher who has been doing great work for a long time now. They have a new book out that all of you need to run out and get RIGHT NOW.

THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME by Howard Waldrop

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this title at last year's world fantasy and I have to say that this collection is IT. It's the Mac AND the Cheese. Every Waldrop fan should have a copy, and if your not a Waldrop fan.. this collection will make you one. It rocks.

Also, Old Earth Books is having a special promotion for this book. Free shipping for this book, and every other book in your order with it, if you order before April.

SPECIAL OFFER:
Order Things Will Never Be the Same before April 1, 2007 and receive free shipping on your entire order (for US shipments; does not apply to currently out-of-stock books).
Enter the code HW in the promotion code box when you check out to take advantage of this special offer.

Also, if you are a fan of Waldrop, or want to help out a worth-while publishing venture, please pass this info around on your own blogs and message boards. This book is the shit, and needs to be read by discerning fan of genre literature.

And seriously consider the Edward Whittenmore books that OEB reprinted recently while over there ordering the Waldrop. Whittenmore is a forgotten master. If you like slipstream historical fiction, Jonathan Carroll, Pynchon, magical realism, John Crowley, &c, you'll almost certainly like Whittenmore.

Er, that's Whittemore, dude.

Some of the Whittemore books are between printings and distressingly "Out of Stock". I hope to get them reprinted soon. And ideally with this quote tacked on somewhere:

"One of the best-kept secrets in American literature, the novels of the mysterious Edward Whittemore are like bowls of hashish pudding: rich, dark, tasty, amusing, intoxicating, revelatory, a little bit outlandish and little bit unsafe." – Tom Robbins

But yeah, Whittemore is truly one of the great unknowns. More about him here: http://www.jerusalemdreaming.info/

All the best,
Michael Walsh
